Botox Training
30th September 2006 Botox Training Course
The day was a fruitful one. We had models for everybody. Three of our past trainees attended making the day enjoyable and interesting. There was some confusion about the amount of Botox used but the training was optimal. Many of our colleagues expressed an interest in attending a hyperhidrosis course if organised.
We use Botox/Vistabel, manufactured by Allergan, at our courses. If you want more information, click on the following link: www.botox.com
International Master Course on Aging Skin (IMCAS)
The prestigious IMCAS meeting was held on January 11th, 12th and 13th 2007 in Paris. The venue was Palais des Congres. Our training team presented a scientific paper, by special invitation, based on a trial conducted by us. The trial deals with treatment of glabellar frown lines using botulinum toxin (Botox/Vistabel). The presentation was very well received.
28th October 2006 Botox Training Course
We had a good training day with visit from Mrs. Gina Robinson, Nurse Practitioner from Sunderland who has been on the August course this year. She has done excelllent research regarding the position of nurse practitioners administering botulinum toxin. She has kindly provided several useful bits of information and links. One of the useful links, which our nurse practitioner colleagues would hopefully find very useful, is given below:

16th December 2006 Botox Training Course
The course was held with only a few days to Christmas. There were new training aids available at the course. In particular we showed a film about the dynamics of facial muscular anatomy and another one about treatment of cleavage lines.
24th February 2007 Botox Training Course
The course was well attended. Interest was expressed in our dermal fillers courses and the possibility of starting courses for hyperhidrosis. The need for continuous practice and taking due precautions, as taught at the course, was stressed.
3rd March 2007 Dermal Filler Course
Our first dermal filler course was a great success. This was a level one training involving treatment of fine lines of the upper face as well as naso-labial folds. The trainees were all medical practitioners and everybody was impressed with Hyaluderm. 2% Hyaluderm can be used on the entire face. Hyaluderm has no cross linking toxins and is very reasonably priced. In addition, the trainees can buy the product at the course for 10% discount. It is planned that all level one trainees would undergo a level two training in an afternoon course in the next two months, within which time they would have hopefully done ten cases. We had three models and the training was very comprehensive and thorough.
12th May 2007 Dermal Fillers Course
The course was well attended with two of our nurse practitioner colleagues attending from Cumbria. There were slight delays to the programme due to two medical colleagues arriving late due to traffic problems around London. Most of the candidates were outstanding in their manual dexterity shown during wrinkle filling training. We had an enjoyable day with excellent feedback from trainees.
9th June 2007 Courses
We had two courses on the day. The hyperhidrosis course was in the morning and the level 2 dermal fillers course was in the afternoon. We had training in small groups which was enjoyable. In particular the lip augmentation session was very popular and desirable. We plan to do more of these workshops soon for all who have attended the level 1 Hyaluderm course.
23rd June Hyaluderm Dermal Filler Course
The course was fully booked. The training was according to our now standardised techniques. These techniques are specially adapted to help beginners achieve good results early. One of the trainees, Dr. Pezzoni, asked if these techniques have been described in any book. The techniques shall be described in a book authored by Dr. Sharma. We hope that this book shall be available towards the end of this year or early next year. For the first time we used the simultaneous multi nodal training with the tutor circulating to ensure correct technique and mentoring as needed. Dr. Patel contributed with her patient photos and there was good discussion on treatment options. The day was extremely busy but enjoyable.
Change Of Venue
From November 2008, the courses will be held at the Aesthetic Training Centre in Peterborough.

The much awaited arrival of Uma Jeunesse dermal filler is happening soon. In comparative clinical trials Uma Jeunesse was found to be safer and lasted longer than a market leader. Cambridge Medical Aesthetics are now appointing distributors for this unique product globally including the UK. The UK distributor will be appointed within the next few months and until then Uma Jeunesse will be available to practitioners directly from Cambridge Medical. They are hoping to start shipping Uma Jeunesse from mid August 2010.
